  • Why always a blue ring?

Is there anything behind this? It seems like every fight nowadays has a blue canvas (with a million other things on it of course) I get tired of it after awhile...

It was a huge elaborate scheme so that when Hatton was knocked out, he would think he was looking out of his window at the sky.

              LOL

All jokes aside, Hatton himself said when Mayweather knocked him out he thought he was in bed, looking out his window at the sky.

Seriously. I saw an article on it here.

Could because it is easy on the camera and eye? I mean fighting on a red ring, for example, could distract viewers etc.

I heard because it's not as bright and therefor much easier on the eyes then other colors.

Im not for different colors, I just dont see why blue is the "it" color in boxing. Why not stick to the white canvas like they used to use, or is still used with any other real or fake fighting? you didnt see ali fighting on some dark blue paint canvas
