  • How Does Fighters Being Gifted help?

What good does getting a gift decision actually do nowadays? If anything it makes the gifted boxer look foolish, and his team/promoter look like crooks. More people are probably actually seeing these fights now more than ever thanks to the internet, this isn't the old days where there were 'newspaper decision' screw jobs, and no one got to see the fight.

Not to mention it usually most always loses them fans because that fighter then has to somehow JUSTIFY how they won the fight, insulting the fan's intelligence.

Fcukin' boxing man, can be frustrating sometimes. (most of the time really) *deep breath*

Take Devon Alexander for example. Had fun wins and had some fans, then started getting gifted, and pretty much had to lie to everyone in order to save face, and lost a lot of fans in the progress.

First of all, your question does not match the title of your thread.
A gifted fighter, is a fighter who is naturally gifted at the sport of boxing, a fighter who gets a decision as a "gift" is not a "gifted fighter".

Because an undefeated record is worth a lot these days.

People forget bad decisions. A fuss is made for a few days and then move on.

Getting the decision over Kotelnik earned him a 7 figure pay day against Bradley. Getting the decision over Matthyse got a big pay day against Maidana. The bad decisions clearly helped his career.

he could be gifted at getting gift decision

on Topic it does help the fighter because most fans will ***** about it for a week and then forget by the next fight, but 1st KO or a gift decision on a record will forever read as a Win
