  • Who do you guys consider the new BMR fighters in boxing today

Im sure some of you guys know who the black murderers row are....they were a group of black fighters in the late 30s-early 50s who excelled from 147-175 and could not secure title shots because of war-time, being ducked, and some champions drawing the color line

Their are fighters today who have styles that a lot of fighters do not want to deal with and they are some of the best fighters in the world.

All of them won major titles in their careers but all of them have no more than 1 high profile fight throughtout their careers

Most of them are called boring, or high risk, low reward but they are all very good fighters

My list of the new Black Murderers Row include Demetrius Andrade, Gulliermo Rigondeaux, Nicolas Walters, Erislandy Lara, Errol Spence, Gary Russell Jr. and the comebacking Andre Ward

No one is jumping through hoops to face these guys and have had to deal with inactivity or networks not wanting to show them because of their style

      the cubans

could have said there was a "ex-ussr murderer's row" a few years back, but they have mostly been integrated into the boxing mainstream now

Nobody is jumping through hoops to fight him

He hasn't fought since March, when he beat Gonzalez

You'd think one of the top ten featherweights would have called him out by now.....126 is a pretty deep division

Hope he fights Santa Cruz or someone top 5 soon

I don't think any of those fighters would have trouble getting fights apart from Lara. Even Rigo has said his problems have been with his now non-manager. I love Rigo, but he has created his own problems. Ward against promotional problems and his huge contract is causing problems but looks like he will fight Kovalev next year.

Walters has had fights against Donaire and Darchiniyan in his last 3, he only won the vacant title 2 fights before that. Russell Jr. has had two shots at the title and failed in one of them.

Lara is avoided certainly but he had significantly more than 1 high profile fight, Trout, Canelo, Williams, Smith, Angulo, Martirosyan. That is a lot of fights against top 10 fighters at 154.

I don't know where you get Erroll Spence from, Thurman is the only one he has really called out. In summary, Lara is avoided but has certainly had a lot of opportunities. Rigo having trouble but everyone else might have trouble getting shots against certian guys but they can get big fights.

no one is falling over themselves to get into the ring with luis ortiz (turned down by stiverne and jennings), sullivan barrera (turned down by beterbiev) or yunieski gonzalez (allegedly turned down by ward)

can't wait until cubans are allowed to go pro (or a new batch escapes) and beasts like la cruz, savon, toledo and alvarez are unleashed stateside

its called a boxing forum....do we have to agree on everything?

Are people jumping at the chance to fight those guys??? No

Andrade has a lot of talent but none of the top 154 guys wanna fight him

                  same for Spence and Russel

Why do people on this forum even acknowledge threads they don't like and shyt on them...you don't have to post in it you kno0w

i'm a fan of andrade and think he beats everyone at 154 lbs, but he was offered big fights and turned them down. namely charlo and korobov. it was more a case of bad decision making than cowardice or whatever though
