Alex Jones is nothing but a used car salesman, the guy is a total idiot. I don't understand how people fall prey to his propaganda and conspiracy theories.

Here's the problem: While Americans may have some right to be concerned about this bill (but not much - as already mentioned there are plenty of democratic countries with similarly robust anti-terror laws that do not experience significant changes in human rights) the problem is that when you automatically gainsay everything that the US government/corporations/illuminati/reptilian overlords does then when there is a genuine and credible reason to be concern it looks like just another stupid conspiracy theory.

That's why when people who hate their own country and its people (like you do) are constantly looking for ways to criticise their own country and its people then legitimate criticisms get lost in the noise.

          Three facts to ponder:

          1. Martial law was already a legal option for a president in a time of crisis. Calling this act the "martial law act" is deliberately misleading.

          2. A considerably more egregious breach of human rights was effected by the previous administration's use of extraordinary rendition and of torture on prisoners as well as the deliberate reclassification of prisoners of war as "enemy combatants" in order to exempt them from the Geneva convention. What's the difference here? That American citizens can now be detained?

          3. All legislation is a balancing act between freedom and security. More often than not the balance is wrong but within a threshold that is acceptable. The level of restriction has to be balanced against the level of threat in this case and the threat is still extraordinarily high. It's fashionable it seems to claim that acts of terror are never actually acts of terror and are instead all actions undertaken by a malicious State hell bent on doing something for some reason (details pending) but face facts: After 9/11 there have been 31 Islamist related terror attacks or plots (successful, failed or foiled) that have luckily not involved mass casualties. Some of them could have caused hundreds if not thousands of deaths. The people perpetrating these acts are not revolutionaries, they're not freedom fighters, they are people who want YOU dead, regardless of how much you think that everyone else is a "sheeple".

Glad to see most are against such a tragedy against the Constitution. As if the US couldnt fight terrorism, with the Constitution in tact as was. US citizens are more likely to be struck by lightning, then to be any of victim of terrorism.

So all that is clear to most Americans. These type of bills just dont drop out of mid-air. Some fine government official, constructed such a thing. It blows my mind to think that. So I wanted to know who could possibly put this in front of the American people, with a straight face. Who exactly would do this and what weird motivation they could have.

Looks like we are dealing with none other then jewish Carl Levin and old John McCain for the frontman. Levin who embodies a career politician, isnt lonely in DC, with his brother career politician Sander Levin always close by for a helping hand. Some say they are the most powerful brother acts in Washington since the Kennedys.

Levin knows how to play DC. A few in DC put up some objections that such detention would violate Americans constitutional rights, Levin agreed to include ambiguous language which specifically exempted American citizens. However on closer inspection (of the language of the following section, 1032) it becomes clear that American citizens can in fact be detained indefinitely without charge and subject to torture.

The Levin brothers have really out done themselves. A couple of fine patriotic men they are, not to America of course, but to their jewish people.

When Carl isnt pushing such bills, he is openly endorsing the Judaism Chabad Lubavitch, from the floor of the Senate.

Also as the head of the Senate Armed Services Committee, Levin is working hard at getting to the botton of the 911 attacks. Shown by shielded General Myers from critical 911 questions during Myers' Sept. 13 Senate Armed Services Committee Nomination Hearing.
