Why doesn't Rios want to fight Alvarado????? It'd be a FOTY no doubt, and Alvarado already beat Narh-Prescott-Herrera. Why is he fighting Herrera?????

"Rios will face Herrera, who in his last fight gave Mike Alvarado all that he could handle. Arum admits the Rios-Herrera encounter will be a measuring stick for a potential future showdown between Rios and Alvarado."

this summer is gonna rock with a bunch of showcase fights i dont really care to see! i mean this crap is fine if you're showing it on espn or fox sports or solo boxeo but this stuff doesn't belong on hbo.

Its not a at bad fight for his first fight at 140 IMO. Especially if you consider that Rios hasn't really looked that great in his last two fights.

Seems like all the excitement about a Pacquaio-esque climb up the divisional scale has faded and Donaire is gonna settle in and try and become the best jr featherweight in the world. Judging from his last couple outtings and the quality of the division, probably a good move.

BoxingScene was advised that the planned doubleheader will go forward on July 7th - which indicates that Amir Khan will likely move his return to July 14th.
