Kelly Pavlik was taken into police custody on Saturday after an alleged brawl at a Foo Fighters concert in Ohio, according to television station WKBN.
The report, citing anonymous sources, said Pavlik was “heavily intoxicated.” The former middleweight champion has been released on a summons to show up in court at a future date, the article said.
Online court records do not yet list anything for this alleged incident.
Last year, Pavlik pleaded guilty to a pair of charges dating back to 2013 — one was to a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, the other was to a count of disorderly conduct in a case stemming from Pavlik allegedly refusing to pay a taxi driver $25 home after a ride home from a bar. Pavlik had the world on a platter but threw it away, anyone remember when he beat Taylor? this dude was huge, he had it all at his feet he could have been the next super star in boxing but blew it on liquor and drugs.
Man kelly pavlik is such a waste. he needs to turn his life around 33 year old middleweight ,lhw can still one good push to set himself for life. I wish him well.
Sad! 2008 is really not that long ago when he was the Best Middleweight in boxing after beating Jermaine Taylor Twice. He is only 33 years old, maybe a comeback and staying active could save his life
All the middleweights are so little now...not sure if he can still make 160 though
He absolutely can not make 160 anymore.
He took the easy way out by retiring. He was only like 30, he had at least 4-5 years of big fights left in him, even if it was just once a year, if he had stay focused. He would have lost to Ward, Froch, and Dirrells but he would have had wars with Abraham, Stieglitz, Sturm, Chavez Jr. He left millions on the table by retiring too, he was a name, very popular in Boardwalk Hall and Ohio.
