Here's another: former Royal Marine with gun saves 100 lives in Kenya.
Do you think that humans would still be able to kill each other with the same efficiency without guns?
There was this interview that was done in the last days of Albert Einstein and he famously said he regretted the early work he had done in the development of Atomic energy because of what it became.
Even when asked about the benefits of atomic (that later turned into nuclear energy) he never changed his opinion. Reason being because he realized that the negative outweighed the positive and so is the same with guns.
Do guns save people's lives? Sure they have and will continue to. But if you took all the people who were murdered needlessly because of them and put them against a list of people who were saved by them, it wouldn't even be close.
You pro gun people have won, so this debate IMO is useless. Gun manufacturers and the NRA have managed to scare enough people so they can go out and by guns as an answer to everything. They have been successful in the propaganda of making it PATRIOTIC to own a gun and only wimpy, socialist liberals don't own them.
They have also made you believe that owning one makes you that much more safe. All of these are lies, stats show that and America is one of the most violent places on earth, even though we are the most religious and everyone and their mother is walking around with a gun.
So I think Piggy's point is a valid one, futile nonetheless, but valid. I would much rather live in a world without them but since we have handed them out like tic tacs, it's the wild fukin west in this mother fuker.
Yeeeee Hawwwwwww!!!!!

The thing is, I own a gun but that's my point of why the debate is over.
It's not about going back in time before guns and the atomic bomb, it's asking the question of, are these things needed in our society? Yes they have some benefits, but the negative aspect of them out weighs that.
I own a gun and it's for home use only. Why? Because I don't want someone coming in my house with a gun. That doesn't mean I will kill them, as a matter of fact, the stats show owning a gun means you are more susceptible to being shot.
It's like I'm a prisoner of this gun culture. If you can't beat them, join them. so now we are all like fukin Cowboys.
