Jason Guida and Bobby Lashley briefly scuffle at "March Badness" presser
And the video. . .
They subsituted one ******* in Shamrock for an even bigger ******* in Guida. Dunno who's idea that was but fairplay lol.
A little bit of drama played out at Thursday's pre-event press conference for Saturday's "March Badness" event in Florida.
The hybrid MMA/boxing card features MMA rookie and former WWE star Bobby Lashley, who drew the ire of opponent and late replacement Jason Guida.
Tempers boiled over when Lashley read critical comments Guida had made about him earlier in the week.
Lashley read the comments while addressing the media and crowd.
"That's why I'm not in a good mood for this fight," Lashley said after reading the quotes. "This fight will be a good one. I hope he can back up what he says because I have a reason to fight now."
Moments later when the fighters posed for the customary staredown photos, trash-talking quickly ensued.
"This is all real stuff," Guida said to Lashley during the staredown. "And you've been faking it for how long? How long you been faking it? Let them know."
Guida, a late replacement for Ken Shamrock (due to a failed drug test), eventually extended his arm for a handshake, but Lashley brushed it aside. When Guida moved in closer to his opponent, Lashley grabbed him by the throat and pushed him back. (Video of the incident is embedded above.)
The scuffle was eventually broken up by promoter and the event's boxing headliner Roy Jones Jr. (who takes on Omar Sheika at the event).
The event takes place at the Pensacola Civic Center and airs on pay per view ($29.95) at 9 p.m. EST (6 p.m. PST).
In addition to Lashley vs. Guida, MMA fights guaranteed to be on the PPV broadcast include Jeff Monson vs. Roy Nelson, Din Thomas vs. Gabe Lemley, and Dennis Hallman vs. Danny Ruiz.
