  • How would you resurrect and/or handle Kelly Pavlik's career now.

Once considered the future of the middleweight division. Boxing's next big star. A series of thrilling knockouts, a war with Miranda resulting in an impressive beatdown and stoppage, a war with Taylor resulting in an impressive stoppage.

Since then, aside from some guys not on his level, he's been embarrassed by Hopkins and Martinez. Both good and crafty boxers.

Now fans have turned their backs on the puncher as it is obvious that he cannot handle crafty boxers. Martinez and Hopkins being two of the best.

How would you match him to resurrect and guide him to as much success as he can possible have in Boxing?

Go to 168 and stay busy against sub par comp.

Fighting every two or three months.

Progressivley getting tougher with each fight.

        Then fight Andrade.

Building to a huge fight with Abraham.

Have him fight as many come forward plodders as possible. For his next 2 fights seek out Angulo, Librado Andrade, possibly even Glenn Johnson at Light Heavyweight. SMW is too crowded with the sort of movers and crafty guys that would dismantle him. Might have to stick to either MW or LHW. A couple spectacular brawls and knockouts on HBO would put his hype train right back on track. Oh and double the ****in' jab Kell.. Touch him low.

thing about kelly pavlik is, fans turned off of him because he made a bunch of lame ass mandatories when he could have been fighting some better opposition. then he gets staph infection on his hand and has a long layoff. kelly was HOT after that amazing jermain taylor win (FANTASTIC fight!) but he just let himself cool off. he didn't take a single match anyone gave a **** about until hopkins, and hopkins schooled the living **** out of him. he did good against martinez, but was ultimately outcrafted and beat up at the end.

my first order of business would be to get kelly a new trainer. someone good and legit. leow can't do **** at the top level. hopkins is beating the **** out of him and all he can say every round is DOUBLE JAB! if beating hopkins was that simple then im sure a lot of people would have by now. kelly can't keep going with a jackleg trainer any longer. he will be at the ESPN level for the rest of his career if he does.

second thing DO NOT FIGHT BUTE! my god kelly will get destroyed, plus no one REALLY cares about the fight. i mean its a good fight and ill tune in, but its not important. bute is coming off great wins and kelly is coming off a string of wins that are so lackluster that they might as well be losses and 2 bad cases of getting outclassed.

its hard imagining kelly to attain the necessary skills to beat the top guys in the game at this level, but if he is going to do it he needs to get a new trainer. if he stays with leow he never gets a real title again, and if he does its a paper title.

indeed, would be a fantastic fight. if he cant beat andrade, he will never be world class anyway, so he'd know just to fight on ESPN for the rest of his career.

Purposely look very bad against a bum (put less pressure and try to use movement like what Juan Diaz does now) to lure Chavez Jr, and then knock him the f**k out when he thinks he's in the ring with damaged goods
