Promoter Artie Pelullo, who co-promotes WBO junior welterweight champion Chris Algieri (20-0, 8KOs), has confirmed to BoxingScene.com that a deal was reached with Bob Arum of Top Rank for his boxer to challenge Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38KOs) for the WBO welterweight crown on November 22nd at the Venetian in Macau, China. HBO Pay-Per-View will carry the fight.

Algieri became a frontrunner for Pacquiao when he scored an unexpected twelve round split decision victory over the heavily favored Ruslan Provodnikov last month at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Very risky fight for Pacquiao, Chris is a high risk low reward bout, a taller and bigger mover with long reach.

Pac could have took on a tailormade opponent like Floyd is doing with Maidana but instead he is fighting his weakness a slick mover.

Chris can move like Lara and everyone who has criticized Pac will tell you this is a stylistic problem for Manny, he can;t fight movers.

Chris is like Lara the ultimate mover, gotta give Pac mad respect and props for taking on a hungry young undefeated guy like Chris, he is giving some new blood a shot at least and a guy who presents him huge problems in the ring.

They should make this on Regular HBO though not PPV. treat the fans Arum, give us one free fight with Pacqiuao, like you used to do with Oscar from time to time.

and now, officially from this day forward, Mannytards have zero room to talk about Floyd's opponents. ever. EVAR.

I honestly cant believe this fight got made..

Total trap fight for manny, even if he wins it will be hard to look good vs algieri..

Algieri has a great chance of pulling the upset.. He is a bigger and better mover than jmm just not as skilled.. But I really think chris can bother manny in there with his movement and skills and combination punching

We sure are getting some horrific mismatches this year, in all weight classes. Doesn't matter if it's HBO, SHO, Arum, GBP, Schaefer, Haymon... standards have hit an all-time low.

                    Crap fight

Very disappointed that Manny took this high risk low reward fight that adds nothing to his legacy. Pacquiao needs to retire and go out on a high note.
