No doubt Canelo is not even close to the star Oscar was. ODL was the only non heavyweight doing PPV fights in his day. His crossover appeal was huge.
But we are talking about a guy in Canelo that is doing decent PPV numbers against non draws vs a guy that did horrible PPV numbers and has been relegated back to HBO fights for right now. Its about leverage. Even with the belt GGG has none. Right now the fight only happens on Canelo's terms. Other fighters are willing to make those concessions, apparently GGG feels he is above what guys like Floyd and Pacquiao did to get their first big paydays. I won't fault GGG if he isn't willing to sacrifice to have his first quality win. Some guys are and some guys are not willing to pay the price.
