  • Should Provodnikov get a new trainer?

I don't believe it's good for him to keep taking so many punches to the head like he does. Do you think there is anyone out there that might improve his defense significantly while still keeping him potent offensively?

Or is it too late to change him at this point?

its too late at this point he just has bad habits that can't be broken. buddy mcgirt was his trainer a few years back and he did show progress but that relationship didn't last very long.

It won't matter, Ruslan is what he is! He is fun to watch for the Casuals so you can match him up vs other Brawlers like Brandon Rios and you're going to get a great match out of it and people are going to love it. But a new trainer is not going to make him more than just a One-Dimensional Brawler who refuses to move his head. Eating Punches is not tough...IT IS FUKING STUPID! Not calling Ruslan stupid but more so the fans who think getting blasted in the face and just eating it is "Boxing"

Ideally he would get Ruslan to move his head more and to use defense to set up offense.

Floyd Sr, Roger or Virgil Hunter might be able to revamp him but it would take a while and their styles might not mesh too well with his. Maybe Abel Sanchez?

Thats just his style, like ppl said he isnt gonna change it even with a new trainer. Everytime he faces a guy who can keep range and box he will probably lose that fight, but hes a tough guy and has power .

Provodnikov is with the best trainer for the limited tools that he has. Aggression and pressure is the only way a guy like Provodnikov could ever be successful. Provodnikov does move his head but not consistently enough, it has nothing to do with the way he is being trained but his application.

Yeah. That's the only time Ruslan actually fought behind a jab, when he was with McGirt.

Show him how to stop punches with his face from new and different angles?

He needs to move faster in the ring and to develop some head movement in the process. I don't know if anyone can give him that.

Maybe he should go the Maidana route and head for Oxnard. But Robert hasn't exactly replicated that success with Brandon Rios.
