That **** is still new to me, because N64 was the last system I owned. PS2 is way beyond what I know about videogame, hard to believe that was 16 years ago.

The dvd player in the end was, the worst thing about the PS2. The minute the dvd lens went out (very popular issue), the disc read errors on the gaming side would soon follow.

Only thing I hated about the system. Went though 3 in its lifetime.

Yes, the dvd player wasn't worth a shyt as the lens stopped reading, but it was the ps2's major selling point and was one of the main reasons people bought the console. Back then a dvd player was expensive as shyt.

Well that is true. I don't think it worked out the way PlayStation wanted it to. After awhile, it just was better not to use the dvd portion of the system.

True that. I learned that the hard way watching dvds on it until the lens burnt out. Cost a shyt ton getting it repaired since the warranty ran out. I remember a friend came over after school and had a dvd he wanted to watch. I said fck that, I'm not watching anymore dvd's on my ps2. If you want to watch something, go get a VHS tape.

It's a shame I never owned a PS2. I owned 1, 3 and now 4. I basically quit video games from 2001-06.

I was 18 at the time and taking drugs, drinking booze and chasing pus*y was more important than playing video games back then. I'm old now, so video games give me hours of fun and they keep me out of trouble these days.
