How to act Alpha/ counter those that try to act more Alpha than you?

not true, there may be a true leader in a group of people but lets say some new people join the group and they don't know whos who and it isn't obvious because the alpha male in this group is quiet and fairly subtle, well there may be another guy who mimics the behaviour of an overt alpha male and the new women/ people think he is the boss, but then when say an emergency happens and he starts peeing his pants and the quiet alpha male starts leading the group and taking action to protect them etc then the new people will learn who the new alpha male is, or they will just learn with time, but until that time they can be tricked

No problem, beta men have a poor sense of the authentic self. This is why women prefer older guys in many cases because they have a stronger sense of self which comes from experiences and just learning about their own personal imperical truths.

Alex, don't you think by trying to out-alpha someone you are unwittingly being a beta by putting another guy on a pedestal as someone you have to neutralize as a threat to your fictional sense of self?

There is a short book called; Way of the Superior Man, it explains masculine psychology and how it relates to feminine psychology. I think you should read it and would get some great value from it.

He is touching on ego too much, an alpha male doesn't need a fictional characterization of himself in his mind and is just honest and authentic about who he is.

So I did some googling and found this:

There are subtle things you can do to alpha another man or trick women/ others into thinking you are more alpha than another person.

You see guys like Barrack Obama and other world leaders doing this when they interact with each other , they both try to come across as the alpha male and put the other in the position of beta male.

For example if a world lead gets a negative question from a member of the press Obama might put his arm around another world leader onto their shoulder or back and leave it there, while looking with a furrowed brow at the reporter, like you do when you protect a little girl or a younger brother (this signals that I am protecting you which means you are a little ***** and im a big strong alpha male here to protect you from the beta male reporter) all the while on the surface its coming across a nice gesture/joke underneath really it has bad intentions and its undermining the other leaders masculinity, status, leadership and alphaness. This hasn't happened probably but its an example of the type of thing I mean.

Or at the bar when guys are competing for a hot woman, one guy might be an ugly chump so he has some sneakly clever low moralled game that will get him the girl and kill the attraction of the other better looking males he is competing with, for example it might go like this the hot woman might pay the good looking guy a complement about how attractive he is, the ugly guy will then immediately step in and pinch the good looking guys cheek give it a wiggle and say awww isn't he cute while smiling and joking etc this undermines the good looking guys alphaness and masculinity and ups his, and the good looking guy if he is naïve will take it as a compliment from the ugly guy and think of it as a nice gesture which means hes now getting self worth from the ugly guy making the ugly guy appear more alpha to the hot woman, and then he may follow that by saying take that seat there, ill get the drinks in , which then shows he is the leader, and so on, all the time coming off as a good guy on the surface but underneath playing a game of trying to boost his alphaness and reduce the alphaness of the others all while sustaining plausible deniability.

So 2 really crap example I gave but you get the point, how do you best alpha those that try to alpha you in this style/way?
