  • How did Peter Mcneely have such a great record before fighting Tyson?

The guy had 36 wins with 1 loss and 30 knockouts.

    That is pretty impressive.

Can anyone chime in about this guys record?

He fought a string of guys who were a couple of levels down from genuine bum status.

I bet his pops started having flashbacks of him getting stopped by Floyd Patterson, another Cus D'Amato trained fighter, and decided to just end it there and now in the 1st round.

6'2" 210 white boy who could sell some home theatre tickets. Hooked up with a promoter who had access to some lower level talents and a few trial horses who would help the kid out and DONE! A 25-0 record or reasonable enough!

The kid was a tough kid with limited abilities but he knew how to box using the basics and he didn't lose to the guys he wasn't supposed to lose to!

Nothing knew, find a tough white guy who has the savy to sell ringside seats and the promoter will earn and the kids 4 to 6 to 8 round fights will be worth double then triple then 5 times the base pay out!

Old formular trick is to find the kid who could do it, thats not easy!
