That was early in Soto's career, more than 10 years ago, when he was being overmatched, in taking fights on very short notice (1 day or 2).

If not name one Antillon win that was better.

Why all of a sudden are you shittin on Rios? Because, Soto is ducking him? C'mon man...
Soto's win over Antillon, Pacquiao, Jesus Chavez, David Diaz is better than any of Brandon Rios' wins.

Thats for sure, no unbiased fan can dispute.

Were any of these opponents that Rios beat, noteworthy????

And now, Rios feels he has the privilege to fight 3-Time/Divisional World Champion Humberto Soto.

Who does Brandon Rios (a contender) thinks he is,,,, to be telling a 3-Time/Divisional World Champion (Humberto Soto) what to do?

What has Brandon Rios done to deserve a shot at Soto’s WBC title, when Rios is WBC #3 ranked?

Here’s this kid loudmouthing that he wants Soto to defend his title against him in 2 months, after Soto just got done fighting 12 rounds with a potential Fight of the Year against Antillon, and yet, this Brandon is NOT even the mandatory to Soto’s WBC Title.

What has Rios done to feel he can try to dictate Soto's terms?

What has Rios done to deserve a shot at Soto’s title???
          Rios has beaten NO ONE.

Soto has already established himself as a dominant force in the 130-135lbs division, having captured 3 World Titles (WBC 126lbs, WBC 130lbs., and WBC 135lbs), since 2006, and scaring Pac, JMM, MAB, EM, Valero (when he was alive), and so many others into NOT fighting him.

Why should Soto give an up and comer like Rios an oppurtunity to fight for his WBC title, when Rios is ranked #3 and hasn’t worked his way to the top (because Rios doesn’t want to fight his way up the rankings, he wants a shortcut)?

Is it OK for Rios to "cut in line"?

When Soto was #1 mandatory contender ranked to Pacman, Valero and Marquez’s then 130, 135lbs titles, they all ducked him.

So, why should Soto give Rios an underserivng shot, when Soto didn’t get his due shot at Pac, JMM, Valero?

Rios needs to "earn his stripes" and work his way up the rankings, and earn the right to fight Soto, by becoming the WBC #1 Mandatory Contender.

What?? Rios wants a “shortcut” and “cut in line” to fight for Soto’s WBC title?
How convenient for this kid that hasn’t fought anybody yet (and yes, Anthony Peterson was a nobody, with a padded record) .

Soto has more than twice the fights than Rios (Soto-64 pro fights;,,, Rios-26 pro fights), is a 3-time World Champion, and this kid-Rios is telling Soto what he(Soto) should do???

In Rios’s 26 pro fights, he’s fought nothing but bums and a couple of overrated contenders, yet he feels he should make Soto ( a 3-Time/Divisional World Champion) what to do??

Soto is a 3-Time World Champion and could do what he wants at this stage in his career.

If Rios wants to fight for Soto’s WBC title, Rios needs to earn the right to fight for that WBC title, by going through gatekeepers like Antillon, Funeka, Juan Diaz, etc.

Rios doesnt want to go through the "wear and tear" that most contenders have to go through, cause he wants the easy route to a title.
I would say its about time to see what Bam Bam is really made of, just under 30 fights with an unbeaten record with a few high profile TV datesb under his belt... He can't be a prospect forever and did beat the #1 contender recently so its his time whether you like it or not... We will soon find out who Rios really is...

This is what is in Brandon Rios resume -------------> 26- "0" -1
that "0" stands for undefeated. always respect an undefeated fighter.
stop hating on a fighter because they haven't fought a big enough name for YOU to warrant him credit. what's your record? I am sick and tired of people discrediting fighters because they haven't beaten the top ranked in the division, like they have been ducking people. He is an incredible fighter with tons of pep and motivation. Me and many others believe he will be a superstar one day. At the very least a title holder.
Do you have to beat DLH's and Pac's and Floyd's to be somone in the sport?
If that's how you feel then shut the **** up til they fight, and stop watching fighters who apparently aren't worthy of you excellency. Anyone with such a narrow minded mentality is not a fan of boxing and is just a nuthugger and a hater.

You were comparing Antillon to Rios.

This thread is about comparing Brandon Rios to Humberto Soto.

i dont know why you were comparing Antillon's record to Rios', when Antillon is not the subject matter of the thread headline.

Because, Antillon got a title shot and it seems to get another title shot over Rios. But, yet has no win better than what Rios has.

And, why compare a fighter resume is prospect/contender level to a 3 division champ?

Why not compare Soto to a Montiel... Or Cotto..Or any 3 division champ even JMM. Whoever.

Antillon never challenged and/or picked to fight Soto.
It was Team Soto that picked Antillon.

Montiel and Cotto are different weight classes and are not in line to fight Soto.

Soto is the WBC 135lb Champ.
JMM is the WBA/WBO 135lb Champ.

Its really a no-brainer that JMM should unify his 135lbs titles with Soto's 135lbs title.

Thing is JMM is ducking Soto, like he's done so for the last 2 years, just like Pac, Valero, MAB, EM and so many other ducked Soto.
