the idea for a long time now has been that bute has been hanging around 168, fighting lower level guys while he waits for the Super Six winner. It was revealed however after his upcoming fight with Brinkley he'll will be leaving the division and moving up to 175.
The obvious fighter that makes the most sense is Pascal. But doesn't Bute realize Pascal has a fight with Hopkins in December, then a mandatory rematch with Chad Dawson? This means Bute vs Pascal wouldn't happen till the very end of 2011 or 2012.
Why not just stick around at 168? Or does he plan on fighting lesser 175 opponents like Adrian Diaconu until he can land a fight with Pascal? Other than those two guys there really isn't any big money fights for bute, not when you compare them to the names at 168 like Ward, Froch, Kessler, and Abraham.
The move just doesn't make sense to me. Seems like he's taking the easiest path of resistance once again.
