Better than Floyds but Not even close to Pacquiao's
Marco Antonio Barrera > Oscar Dela Hoya
Juan Manuel Marquez > Tito Trinidad
Miguel Cotto > Pavlik
Sasakul > Tarver
Ledwabba > Pascal
Morales > Winky
Hatton > Johnson
Rest of Pac opponents > rest of Bhops

Hopkins' resume isn't any better than Roy Jones' over the decades.
Hopkins outpointed Jones -- Jones outpointed Bernard Hopkins
Hopkins outpointed Tarver -- Jones outpointed Antonio Tarver
Hopkins outpointed Wright -- Jones outpointed Mike McCallum
Hopkins decisioned Pascal -- Jones knocked out Virgil Hill
Hopkins decisioned Pavlik -- Jones decisioned James Toney
Hopkins beat Trinidad -- Jones beat Trinidad
Hopkins beat Oscar -- Jones beat John Ruiz
Hopkins beat Joppy -- Jones beat Jeff Lacy
Hopkins beat Glen Johnson -- Jones beat Gonzales, Harmon and Woods (who all beat Johnson)
Hopkins lost to Calzaghe -- Jones lost to Calzaghe
It took Hopkins three tries at vacant IBF middleweight belts before he finally beat Segundo Mercado (not a Hall of Famer) and it took him two cracks at Pascal's (not a Hall of Famer) WBC belt before he won it.
Jones won the IBF Middleweight belt the first time out -- beating Hopkins (Hall of Famer). Jones won the Super Middleweight title first time out by beating Toney (Hall of Famer).
Hopkins won titles from middleweight to light heavyweight ... Jones won titles from middleweight to heavyweight.
Hopkins had 20 successful defenses in one division, Jones had 18 successful defenses over three divisions.
Jones' career started faster than Hopkins' did. Hopkins couldn't win the middleweight title until Jones left the division. But Hopkins has finished stronger.
In other words, if Hopkins is the best fighter of the last 20 years, then Jones is tied for first with him. Because Hopkins' accomplishments aren't any better. And I don't think anyone is willing to rate Jones that high. Hopkins doesn't deserve to be either.Last edited by Dubblechin; 05-23-2011, 11:25 PM.Comment

Thanks for the red.Next time just try to debate a little. The reason why I agree Hop has the best resume is because of the length and the time he fought guys. He has beaten good fighters while he is not in his prime. Was underdog against Trinidad, Pavlik and Tarver and didnt just beat them but picked them apart. Plus he fought every style there is. He fought guys known to be big punchers like Pavlik and Trinidad and also difficult styles to look good against like Winky and Tarver. His last clear lost was to a prime Roy Jones. The body of work stacks up very well. And this is not to take anything away from Pac. His run has been incredible as well. I just feel Hopkins resume has so many different styles that he conquered( some not even in his prime)that I would give him the nod. Oh and lets not forget the 20 title defenses while he was in his prime. Dude is exceptional. The thing is he close to the end and doing this at 46 witch makes it even more impressive.Comment
