Because you need to get that experience. Even if you have a great amateur record you can't just go in there and fight for a world title in your first 10 fights because you will probably get ktfo. That does not make boxing look bad, that actually makes boxing look good because it means there are levels you have to cross. If a talented 19r old can just go in there and win a world title THAT would make boxing look bad. I would say after 20-25 fights a boxer has to step up and fight the best.
Fighting tomato cans also comes with a big price. You can only fight them for so long, sooner or later you will have to step it up to be taken seriously. Once a guy does take that step up after fighting bums, he will get exposed. It is bye bye from there. This happens very often. |

people underestimate these 'bums' sometimes. I mean, most mma fighters cant make it past those same bums when they try boxing, and generally only their best strikers try out boxing.
try getting into the boxing ring with a so called 'bum' and see how it goes. Youll be in for a nasty surprise. and just because a guy doesnt have a name doesnt mean theyre garbage. It takes a lot of talent even just to be mediocre in boxing. |
