Kamipro has an article about Yoshihiro Akiyama was getting up to 1.2 mill a fight when he got signed. When Akiyama fought his first fight and won, his "recorded" earnings was 20,000 plus a 60,000 bonus.

They get lots more money then reported guys. If they didn't, they wouldn't be able to open schools, start farms or even build their own complexes.

UFC 46

Total gate $1,377,000
Buyrate 80,000

Vitor Belfort: $130,000 ($100,000 for fighting; $30,000 win bonus)
Randy Couture: $120,000 ($120,000 for fighting; win bonus would have been $80,000)

Lower buyrate and lower gate and the headliners get the same as they do now, ridicleous

Alves on his best contract officially makes 60k per fight and he drives a Ferrari...

The only successful UFC fighter that tried to Leave the post-TUF-UFC due to monetary allegations was Randy Couture and Dana proved he was lying...

Werdum also left because the UFC wanted to do a paycut after he lost to an unranked fighter at the time... But even after he beat Fedor he says he wants to come back to the UFC...

So unless I see fighters/managers complaining I wont be worried.

PS: Still the top mma fighters don't make what the top boxers make. That's obvious.

-TUF has indeed attracted new MMA fans, however the Fertita brothers' stance in having everything PPV and banning youtube vids have also turned away old fans. Zuffa's bully boy tactic has also prevented the growth of many promotions from around the globe (as a result has stunted MMA as a sport).

-Having the brand as the main selling point instead of the fighter is EXTREMELY dangerous. The UFC could and have already started hyping up garbage and green fighters, fans believe them to be the best simple because they fight in the UFC, not because they are any good.
No, mma wasn't nearly as popular before the Fertita bro's came along. It was still a niche sport and barely staying afloat as a whole. UFC was the most(maybe 2nd to Pride) popular organization a decade ago and they were still going bankrupt when it got sold for $2 mill to the Fertitas. That shows you the state of the sport as a whole. IMO, The Fertitas saved the sport of MMA. No matter how good any individual fighter is, they can't do much to popularize the sport the way the Fertitas were able to. Thus the UFC fighters should be thankful for every penny that they are getting.

Lets see the UFC trying to pack a 50k stadium and have a viewership of closer to 20 million. The only thing that happened now is that MMA has decreased in Japan while it increased in America, yet MMA popularity in Japan back then was still bigger than MMA in America now.

EXAMPLE 1) Imagine working for a company of 5 people, your work makes the company 50 million dollars a year yet the company only pays you $20k................should you be happy with this/do you think this to be a fair reward for your effort?

EXAMPLE 2) Another example, a milti-billion dollar clothing company sells its leather jacket for $2k a pop, buys the material for $100, and pays the worker who makes the jacket 20 cents for every jacket...............is this fair and should the worker be happy with the division?

Both cases are clear example of EXPLOITATION.

the UFC can pack a 100k stadium if they put out the right card.

but thats the thing, the fighters don't make the company, the company makes them. A lot of the fighters in Pride were better than the fighters in the UFC. Yet a lot of fans thought Liddell, Ortiz, Sylvia..... were the best in the world and they got paid accordingly. Did they make themselves? No, the UFC made them.
