I am a fan of Pacquiao even though I'm not a hardcore worshipper like some people are. And up until the Cotto victory, I actually thought that Bernard Hopkins had just as good of a case for it with wins over Wright, Pavlik, Tarver, Trinidad, a more prime De La Hoya than Pacquiao fought, and being so consistent past 40. I never even thought Mayweather belonged in this discussion and I would give the award to Hopkins or Pacquiao before him because of the way Floyd cherry picked his opponents. The reason why I gave this as a slight edge to Bernard is because I didn't think all that highly of Pacquiao's wins over De La Hoya, Hatton, and David Diaz. I thought the victory over JMM was good even if the fight was close. But Pacquiao's win over Cotto would make me give him the award for sure now, no questions asked.

I think you could make a serious argument that Pacquiao is one of the top 25 fighters of all-time and should he beat Mayweather, you could make a serious argument that he is one of the top 5 fighters of all-time.
