  • Tyson by TKO.

Lewis would cause Tyson alot of problems with his height and jab but as the fight continued i could see Tyson being able to get inside and get his work in eventually leading to a Tyson stoppage around the 7th round.

    Tough fight for both guys.

If the fight goes more than 5 rounds Tyson is screwed.

Lewis left Tyson bleeding from every orrifice, a destroyed man, he would do it at any point in Tysons carrer.

Tyson was shot then to be honest.

A prime Tyson had awesome head movement, explosive handspeed and fast footwork.

The version Lewis fought was a flatfooted fighter with faded reflexes. The only thing Tyson had left at that stage was his power.

        • Who is still talked about? Mike Tyson.
He captured all of boxing's imagination.
In his prime, with Rooney, Tyson would KO Lewis in under 5.

Tyson was Never ko'd by 1 punch, Lewis was twice.
          Enough said.

If you don't wish to be labled as someone not knowing jack **** then please refrain from making ignorant statements like "the Tyson that Lewis fought was prime Tyson". That just screams of someone not knowing jack.

Think highly of yourself do you? Are you some sort of narcissist? Because that's what you're coming across as. Are you planning to brag about your income now? I disbelieve 99% of what most posters claim about themselves as I've seen far too many internet junkies create fantasy lives about themselves that are completely disconnected from reality.
First let me say that I'm probably not what you could call an "internet junkie". I spend somewhere between a half hour to maybe a couple of hours every morning, having my coffee, checking weather and news, and reading a few posts on Boxingscene. I think you can see by the vast difference in the number of posts between us, and the time we've been here, you're far more of an "internet junkie" than I am. As for bragging, hey...I dont' give a **** whether you believe me or not. My point was simply that I'm better at picking a winner than you are, and would've picked Lewis over Mikey any day, and bet the farm on it. Even the bookies had him at about a 2/1 underdog.

As for being narcissistic..no. Arrogant? Yep, I fully and freely admit that. When I start missing picks, I'll admit that, too. I don't have anything to gain here by stating this ****, and my picks (at least over the last few years) are pretty much a matter of record here. I've missed a couple, but only a couple.

For starters, "physical prime" is different for every fighter so that argument doesn't wash. Even being generous and crediting the Douglas and Ruddock fights as being "prime" Tyson (and most would argue with that), I can think of NO boxing expert that considers post-prison Tyson prime and just about all of them consider him completely shot by the time he fought Lewis, Williams, and McBride.

You can claim whatever you want, but the Tyson that met Lewis was in his physical prime. He was never mentally capable of handling Lewis, even when during what you claim as his "prime", and would've been humiliated just as badly.

You're obviously a big Tyson fan, but the guy has always been a mental midget. Losing to someone like Buster Douglas simply proves it. If he couldn't dominate and intimidate his opponents, he was lost and tended to implode (the Holyfield fight for example). In 2002, he was 36, still easily in his physical prime, and still as capable as he ever was.

But that **** doesn't matter anyway....the question was who would win if they did meet in their prime years, and the answer is: Same thing that happened when they met in 2002. Tyson gets abused and humiliated in front of the entire planet. Buster Douglas, for Christ's sake, beat Mikey in his prime (I hope to Christ you're not going to claim he wasn't in his physical prime then), and Lewis would've done the same as Douglas except without getting hurt or even letting Mike look like he was in the fight.

When Mikey didn't mentally collapse, he was capable of beating just about anybody even remotely his own size, but he never, ever had a chance against someone like Lewis, and would've lost to Lennox any day, any time, any where, no matter who his (Tyson's) trainer was, or what his mental state.

Now then, I will also say this: I am NOT a Tyson fan. I think he's always been a spoiled, ******ed sociopath who never should've been allowed into a boxing ring (at least not after his Holyfield fights), or even allowed to handle his own affairs as he is very obviously mentally incompetant. But while I admit that I just can't really stand Mikey, that has nothing to do with who I think would've won a prime "Lennox/Mikey" matchup. Tyson just happens to be one of the most hugely overrated fighters ever to lace 'em up, and I think Lewis would've exposed that no matter when they met. Tyson's two biggest assets (intimidation and speed/power) would've done him no good at all against Lewis' size/reach and skill advantages.

That would be news to Tyson fans most of whom think I'm a Tyson hater.
