Default Judah,Casamayor Return On Same Card.

Former undisputed welterweight champion Zab Judah and former lightweight champ Joel Casamayor, both out of action since late last year, are returning in 10-round bouts -- on the same card.

They fight in separate bouts at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on Nov. 6 in the top two bouts of a pay-per-view card dubbed "Road to Redemption," which is being promoted by Vargas Entertainment and Promotion. That's the company headed by retired former two-time junior middleweight titlist Fernando Vargas, who has co-promoted shows in Nevada, but this is the first one on his own.

Judah, also a former junior welterweight titleholder, was scheduled to be featured on the Sept. 19 Floyd Mayweather-Juan Manuel Marquez pay-per-view card against Antonio Diaz. But Judah, 31, withdrew after the bout -- which had been arranged as a favor by Mayweather -- had been announced without an explanation. Instead, Judah opted to face journeyman Ramon Montano (17-7-2, 2 KOs).

By the time Judah (37-6, 25 KOs) enters the ring it will have been two days shy of one year since his last fight, a decision win against Ernest Johnson on the Joe Calzaghe-Roy Jones undercard. Judah has fought once before at the Palms, losing a nine-round technical decision to Joshua Clottey for a vacant welterweight belt in August 2008.

Casamayor, 38, hasn't fought since losing the lineal lightweight championship via 11th-round knockout to Marquez in September 2008. Casamayor doesn't have an opponent yet, but he'll fight at junior welterweight, according to manager Luis DeCubas Jr.

Casamayor was mentioned for potential fights with lightweight titlist Edwin Valero and interim junior welterweight titlist Marcos Maidana, but those bouts didn't materialize. So after a long layoff, DeCubas said Casamayor realized it was time to get back to work.

"Joel thinks he can win a world title in his third weight class and make history," DeCubas said. "He thinks that junior welterweight is a hot division and he wants to be a part of it. But if a big fight comes at lightweight, he can still make 135 pounds. Whatever comes around."

Casamayor (36-4-1, 22 KOs), also a former junior lightweight titlist and 1992 Olympic gold medalist for Cuba, is promoted by Golden Boy, but DeCubas said it gave Casamayor permission to take the November fight because it didn't have anything lined up for him.

Also appearing on the card will be Mexican featherweight Salvador Sanchez (16-3-2, 8 KOs), the nephew of the late Hall of Famer and former featherweight champ of the same name.
