I had someone break into my house once. The cop that came out said that if you feel your life is in danger, you can defend yourself. Me, being home alone with three small kids (husband was at work) I had the right to do whatever it took to protect myself, but if the guy got outside, he could claim I did it while he was outside, so to drag his ass back in the house before calling the cops...and if I used a gun, NOT to shoot to harm him. Shoot to stop him. COLD.
