Murray won.

If it'd been 15 rounds, he might've KO'd Sergio.

He'd just get disqualified if he did that.

People need to understand the difference between a competitive fight that could be scored either way and one that can't. In the Canelo fight, Trout threw more and landed more, but Canelo landed harder and scored a knockdown.

But in this fight, Murray landed more punches, definitely landed the harder shots - Martinez didn't seem to have anything on his punches - and he also scored a knockdown (maybe two). Yet people still say it could be scored either way. If Murray had gotten the decision, everyone would've said the right guy won.

Martinez dropped in the 8th and 10th, was hurt in the 4th by a body shot and faked a low blow and took a minute to recover.

The only way you could have the fight close is if you gave every close round to Martinez, even then it's hard to see how he'd get anything better than a draw.

This 100%. These Martinez homers (who i wont name) are absolutely ridiculous here the past day or so. Just spewing nonsense and trolling.

Martinez lost this fight and no matter what the record books say, true and unbiased boxing fans know Sergio Martinez lost his last fight and has an unofficial L on his record from Saturday night.

Absolute incompetent judging and refereeing. Please stick to your word Sergio and fight GGG next because after Saturday night, he is going to absolutely obliterate you, IMO. And this is coming from a guy who has liked Martinez throughout his career.

Literally, GGG is going to absolutely pummel Sergio and send him into retirement.

Martinez came into the fight while not fully recovered and physically unprepared...
Team Martinez somehow thought that Murray would be overwhelmed by the "national holiday" put in place by the Argentinians...
As I said before, Murray looks like a limited fighter -- but he did more than enough to get the decision...
Now, I suspect that the likes of Alvarez, Chavez Jr. would try to lure Sergio with big purses. And I also suspect that Martinez still has the ability to come back as strong as we knew him.

At the very most, one could give Sergio 1-4, 11, and 12. With a knockdown, that's a loss for Sergio. No way he won more than six rounds (more like four or five.)

I've also enjoyed watching Sergio over the years, he's been one of my favorites. But he was very lucky he wasn't in the ring with Golovkin Saturday night. Golovkin is so much more dynamic on offense than Murray.
