Manny can still leap in but he should only be doing it when coming in with his left hand so that he is moving away from Marquez's (right hand). He did that as well in fight #4 and Marquez couldn't even touch him.
The danger is when he leaps in with his jab. If he connects well, it should be OK but if he misses entirely like he did, then that could spell trouble. Still, it didn't help that he tripped up over Marquez's foot. In a few similar situations, Manny was always able to pull back his head just enough to absorb Marquez's punches well or duck Marquez's punches.
