The man accused in a brutal incident that left welterweight Nick Casal hospitalized with hundreds of stitches and numerous staples will be going to prison.
Michael P. Vicki, 31, pleaded guilty earlier this week to one count of attempted first-degree assault, according to The Buffalo (N.Y.) News. Last year, Vicki had pleaded not guilty to one count of first-degree assault. This lesser charge could still land him a maximum of five years in prison, according to the article. Surely if you plan to hit someone over the skull in a unprovoked attack with a golf club constitutes as attempted murder?
Also anyone with knowledge in this area, why is it called "attempted" first-degree assault. The attempt looks pretty successful too me. |
