Usually around this time you would hear reports about the MSG being close to sold out. I went to ticketmaster and you can buy 20 tickets at a time for every price level and the fight is next week. It doesn't seem to be doing well.

Iole is right that this fight has next to no hype, especially because he's fighting Trout. I didn't even know the fight next week until I just checked. Nobody is asking Cotto be Mayweather. Just be more available. I don't recall seeing a single Cotto interview the past two months. On the other hand, I've seen plenty of Trout interviews and you can't expect him to be doing all the promoting himself since no one will care what he says.

There are some valid points and some irrelevant points.

Cotto can't change who he is, he isn't going to have a personality makeover and he doesn't need to.

That being said, being "unavailable" at a press conference to announce your fight, a fight you're self promoting, is unacceptable and irresponsible.
