Default Age doesn't matter in boxing?

Seriously....

Think about it....

Seth Mitchell started at very close to 25 with no experience....

You have some guys who start super early that don't reach the feats he reached....

Back in the super old days, like late 1800s and early 1900, there were all these old guys that were doing pretty good in boxing....

Bernard Hopkins is proof that you can fight at a high level at an old age....

Evander Holyfield was proof that you could fight at a somewhat high level at old age.....

Sergio Martinez is proof that you can still be Champion, though starting late.....

Look at guys like Marquez....

Floyd Mayweather, Jr. for example....he's just as good now as he was at 24-25.....he's still dominating....

Mayorga at any age didn't really have much skill, but he was able to beat credible opponents just based upon out fighting them....

I'm for boxing....but, maybe age doesn't matter.....

The better man on that night always wins.....

Of course age matters. When anyone gets past a certain age they start to lose speed, strength, stamina, and their reflexes slow down. That age would probably be about 30 for most fighters and maybe a few years older for a few fighters. For every fighter that continued to do well at 35 or 40 you can find 10 fighters that clearly went down hill after 30. In any sport that performance can be measured with a stop watch or a tape measure that fact can be clearly shown. You won't find any 40 year olds breaking the world record for the high jump or broad jump or the mile or the 100 yard dash. Mayweather and Pacquiao are still damn good but they are not as good as they used to be and they both train hard and take care of themselves. We all saw old age catch up with Mosley, De La Hoya, Sugar Ray Leonard and hundreds of others. It matters.

Of course it does.

There's always going to be exceptions, and some guys age faster than others for whatever reason (punishment in the ring, lifestyle, fighting style, genetics, etc...), but of course as a whole, age matters.

Age does matter...in the majority of circumstances a younger boxer will have an advantage with that being age

You can't really use exceptional cases as the norm and say age does not matter.
