London’s James DeGale, 13-1 (9), could take on Edinburgh’s Kenny Anderson,18-1 (13), on December 8 in a fight that would be televised on U.S. television network WealthTV. According to BoxingScene’s sources, Anderson has agreed to the fight in principle and is waiting on confirmation from DeGale, who is now promoted by Mick Hennessy and featured on Channel 5 on October 13 — a hard-fought a decision win over Hadillah Mohoumadi in DeGale’s first bout since parting company with Frank Warren. DeGale versus Anderson would be a compelling fight between two champions — “Chunky” is the EBU titlist and Anderson recently netted the vacant British belt by stopping Robin Reid in five-rounds on October 20.

Really like this fight. Anderson is always value for money. I hate that he gets labelled a poor man’s Steve Collins, trust me, you wouldn’t say that to his face!
Top fight, but DeGale should pull through with little concern. I see this being similar to the DeGale / Smith fight. Levels. Say what you like about DeGale but the natural talent is in there, it just proves a little hard to extract, but he’ll get there. Still think he’s a price pr!ck though. |
