Default Teofilo Stevenson: A Cuban Great

I am currently carrying out some research for my university dissertation on former three time Olympic heavy weight Cuban boxing champion Teofilo Stevenson. Undoubtedly the man is one of Cuba's greatest ever boxers however in light of the sad news of his passing in June I was wondering if anyone knows how much was done within the country to commemorate him? He was loved by the Cuban populace for his famous rejection to turn professional and fight Ali, but once he had retired what was his relationship with the Cuban people and what was his role within Cuban society? If anyone has any insight into this having travelled to Cuba or studied the issue I would love to get in touch.
