Yeah... I know what you're saying. It's probably cover-up-able.. maybe with a black decal or something... to be honest it doesnt bother me too much.. OR you can make a bezel that literally JUST fits the screen instead of the landscape around it too.

Man, what I wouldn't give for available dash space like this:

Got my new (2nd) Double din dash kit... the other one was just the face you insert into the rest of the factory dash... this is the entire aftermarket fascia, it has a way better look to it and the ends are all nicely moulded into the deck.

ZERO fabrication done on this, I just pulled it out of the package and here's how it looks.

Not yet, Ive come to the conclusion I want to use a Bluetooth cd player for audio integration and to give me a volume knob, I have an ashtray opening thats tall enough but about half an inch too narrow, so I need to goto the shop to look at modifying the opening to fit one, it would be perfect if it can be done... which of course it can.

No.... I wasn't satisfied with how I would get audio out.

The head phone jack to RCA created a thumping noise when selecting anything for some odd reason.... Finding a bluetooth dongle that wirelessly connected to amps had their own problems such as auto start up when the car starts etc...

Id still like to do it, I still have everything, it's just getting quality sound out.

THe best way, is to get a standard double din navigation, and ALSO have the tablet... that way the tablet bluetooths music to the standard bluetooth radio.

We are ready to resume progress.

The big hold up here was finding an AUDIO-OUT option that would sound GOOD.

You basically had either

A) Stereo headphone jack to RCA into amps.

Problems include, feedback through rca's while being charged along with, well, using a headphone jack for a premium sound system.

Also, lack of a volume knob, you would either use an on screen volume slider, which sucks, or an RCA line level knob, which is ugly.

Option B) Bluetooth Audio.

Only Problem, need a secondary device to receive the bluetooth signal to send it to the amps, the best solution would be a bluetooth cd player, so that you have a volume knob and additional EQ settings for the tablet.

Well we took apart the ashtray in my cayenne, and it is doable to have a cd player below the tablet... just got back. So Ill be ordering a cd player, hopefully we can get this going this weekend.
