thre is no difference - neither pacman or ward can claim those are their best wins. de la hoya and dawson may be the best names on their records but they are far from their best wins.

The division was circumstantial but Pac was operating physically where he had been for a while (see his other in-ring weights against Morales and Diaz). On fight night, Ward and Pac were in their confort zones and their opponents weren't, well actually Dawson was but making weight affected him. DLH had a rehydration clause against him.

Both performances were something to talk about, but after Pac/DLH, the cat was well and truly out of the bag when looking at fights like this. Hype couldn't work again.
A vast majority of fighters weigh a division or two above what they weigh in at on fight night. There's a big difference between weighing in at 145 and weighing in at 130 or 135. It wasn't as simple as Pac just not having to cut weight anymore.

And there was no rehydration clause, how long are people going to continue to lie about that?

The different is in one fight both fighters were leaving their comfort zonez.

In the other fight, only one fighter was leaving their comfort zone and he wasn't even favored to win.

Oscar should have fought the winner of Cotto-Margarito, but was so scared to fight Margarito and elected to their opinion at that time a safer and more lucrative fight with the smaller pacquiao...

People have to remember Margarito was lobbying for a fight with Oscar which was totally ignored, imagine if Tony fought Oscar at 147 that night...

IMHO Oscar planned to fight Pacquiao, why would he take a tune up fight at 150??
