foreman's an odd case.
as other's have stated, he won a gold medal. he also boxed well past his prime in his comeback and got some significant wins. the craft he might not have utilized in his prime he certainly displayed after his ten year layoff.

but in his prime he had a tendency to abandon many of his boxing skills in lieu of simply pounding on a guy. i mean just look at some of his punches...
but they did work for him, for the most part. the man is generally considered the hardest puncher ever.

well, you would have to mention the ATGs who had to rely on an iron chin in their careers cause they got hit a lot. The names Carmen Basilio, Jake La Motta, Rocky Graziano and Matthew Saad Muhammad come to my mind.
But I dont wanna take anything away from them, but what they didnt have in skills, they had to even out with heart and an iron chin.

LaMotta gets a terribly bad rap for being unskilled. He blocked, parried, slipped punches and bobbed and weaved. He used his jab, slid side to side, went to both the body and head. He's not as aesthetically pleasing to watch as some, but he did it all. You don't build a resume like LaMotta's, you don't beat Ray Robinson without being a highly skilled fighter. The movie "Raging Bull" has portrayed him into being this face first slugger, but what I see on film is far from that.
