Post What would keep the different kinds of Fight Night/boxing fans interested?

What would keep different kinds of Fight Night/boxing players interested?

How's it going Fight Night community? I'm putting a document together to send to the producers to let them see what each category of fans like or what would hold their interest. I'm also going to send this to other companies.

Please help me establish this list and document. Let me know if you think I should add another category or take something away. Suggestions and ideas can repeat in each category if you think they fit.

Casual fans:
-The options to create a large amount boxers that they can't sign, past and present, including all divisions and all champions, individually rated in over three dozen categories.

- Improved use of between round strategies; actual interaction if you choose to take over the role of a trainer or cut man
-single and double elimination tournaments
-adjustable career stages for retired fighters
-Detailed training and Diet Modes
-Deep Creation Mode with detailed info for boxers
-Belts, create a belt
Hardcore fans:
-The options to create a large amount boxers that they can't sign, past and present, including all divisions and all champions, individually rated in over three dozen categories.

-Top Ten Lists and Organizational Rankings
A boxing game should include twenty-two specific Top Ten categories. Those categories, should result in over 1500 different lists. There should be a list of the ten fighters who average the most punches per round in ten or more fights. Make it more specific by modifying the parameters to include a specific division, or a specific nationality, or for a specific year!
-Deep AI and tendencies sliders
-CPU vs CPU match making or watching (optional)
-Statistics are one of the major driving forces in sports; and while boxing doesn't lend itself to stats the way a team sport does, a boxing game can provide almost every statistic possible and do it so in a number of unique ways, and go well beyond the expected "won/lost/knockouts" stats.

Faster and smoother gameplay.
MUCH More new animations for punches thrown.

That's all I really ask for. It feels so clunky when you're actually trying to box in the game.

Create a Fight Card is a great idea. That has been in wrestling games forever, at least it was when I played them. Shouldn't be too hard.

If they took Fight Night Round 4, sped it up a little and gave it the signature punches Champion did well, that would be a good start. Reducing the importance of counters would also help.

Getting rid of Story Mode and instead adding little story elements to Career Mode to make you feel more attached to your fighter would be really nice. As would changing it so the backwards ass "You can't knock fighters out in the beginning of your career, but you knock out everyone at the world class level" isn't that way anymore.

somehow make every fighter in the game have an equal chance of beating any other fighter so players won't end up choosing the same fighters over and over again. it may not be realistic but 3/4 of the roster is a huge waste in multiplayer.

Casuals
Casual fans would love this.

Hardcore
Hardcore fans will hate this to death. It kills variety with the roster. Some online fans will like it while other fans will hate it.

Boxing
Boxing fans and players who want realism will hate this with a passion. It will kill game sales again and kill the franchise all together.

*The answer is plain and simple. Weakness vs. Strength; every boxer has one or more, True Aneorobic Fatigue, better damage effects, realistic one punch KO's for boxers with those capabilities.

Agree to everything he said. I can't wait for this game to come out.

Commit to a Sim or an Arcade, it will be impossible to please the sim players and the arcade players at the same time, but oddly enough its very easy to screw it up for both types of players. Have Fight Night Champion be the sim, and create an arcade and call it something stupid like facebreaker or something.

I agree but disagree here. Don't manipulate stats to make the game even, but
try a little harder to give the fighters in the game, realistic stats. That will even it up a bit.

For instance, in FNC ALi seems to punch as hard as Frasier and Foreman, which I don't think he did, Not only that, they have Frasier crazy slow in that game, watch his fights, he was no Ali, but he wasn't slow by any means. Foreman was slow, but he definately hit harder than Ali not as hard but HARDER.

Fight Night 3 had a really cool thing, where every guy had a strength and a weakness. Jermain Taylor was fast and powerful, but he had a weak body, so if you were fighting him, it was best to work the body.

You basically said what Fight Night needs, Risk vs. Reward, A Strength vs. A Weakness, Penalty vs. Reward! This is where balance comes into play.
