I have one boy and one girl and both are extremely interested in boxing. I don't know if I would want my daughter to box seriously, but learning to protect herself is a good thing. They are still pretty young, I told my son if he is still interested in boxing when he turns 10, I will let him go to the gym.

As for style, I would leave that up to who ever is training them.
