I'm just saying, some people expect too much from a game that has to tread the line between being popular and being realistic.

You're playing a game, you're not going to be afraid of the pain that comes with a punch. Jabs can't really be as effective as they should be without that.

We would all love a good boxing sim, more than anything. But i'm afraid it's not going to happen. The boxing market just isn't big enough right now.

It's just technically not plausible. Too many intricacies and details.

You're never going to have the emotions involved in boxing, and you're never going to have enough controls to micro-manage properly. Even if you did, it'd simply be too much to handle.

I don't see any way around that.

Greatest heavyweights for the genesis was pretty realistic, (especially for it's time). It had a body meter along with a head meter. Joe Frazier/Luis had some men left hooks & Marciano had a killer uppercut. To this day that game is the best boxing game I've ever play.

Never heard of that one, but I wiki'd it and it says it was a follow-up to Evander Holyfield's game. Which I enjoyed.

I'm surprised it wasn't more popular, but the detail & attention to fight styles & the history (when you beat the game with all the different heavyweights), it told their complete boxing biography. That's actually how I learned about the heavyweight boxing history.

Check it out. If you can get your hands on the sega genesis. The game is truly epic. Holyfield was the hardest to win with, cause he didn't have Joe Lewis's or Frazier's power. And Ali was fast as lightning while Marciano was real slow, but his uppercuts wrecked fools. Holmes had a crazy jab & straight right hand.
