Fantastic thread, it's a testament to Calzaghe's greatness that he's the greatest SMW of all time. The likes of Ward, Froch and Bute would all have been figured out and beaten by Joe. He was a human windmill with a granite chin, great ring IQ and a great fighting heart. Not to mention the skills to go with it

Pavlik, Froch and Dawson were nobodies, Calzaghe was 36 years old. Glen Johnson? Glen Johnson is a journeyman. Or are you one of those who thinks Johnson is great, because he popped up on your TV screens in 2004 and knocked out overhyped HBO fighter Roy Jones. |

![]() Best in his era? Yea, the best cherry picking ducker in his era. His two best wins are40 year old past prime fighters he ducked his entire career hiding out at 168 while roy & bhop were prime & one division below & above him & both senior citizens proceeded to knock his pasty slappy arse down to boot. Can you imagine if they fought in their prime? & lmfaaooo at you mentioning eubank who had what 2 weeks notice to prepare for a fight & who as also shot & past prime & consequently lost his last two fights & retired. Mikkel Kessler? GTFO with that Lucian Bute clone. & the worst part about calazaghe? He retires after slapping two geriatrics to complete annoyance while his long time division is about to become "SUPER." Froch might not surpass Calzaghe (he's not finished though) but he has already garnered more respect calzaghe will ever get. Calzaghe will go down as one of the biggest duckers in the history of the sport along with being a cokehead. |
