I think Floyd is smart enough to know a Floyd vs Canelo/Cotto fight would do much bigger PPV numbers than a Floyd vs Guerrero fight. So sure, while Guerrero would only demand like 2% of the purse, it could be a flop, whereas Canelo or Cotto are pretty much guaranteed to do over a million buys easily.

As Floyd usually says, Men lie, Women Lie, numbers don't. Based on that logic, he'd be a fool to pick anyone else besides Cotto for the money it'll make.
Alvarez is my next option, but IMO that's a bonehead move on Oscar's part if you're still in the process of putting Canelo under the big lights. That would no doubt be Oscar putting Canelo in a Cannonball shoot from where he stands now to where he'd be as far as the level of event it would be in comparison to what Canelo's experienced. |
