Default A unbiased, factual breakdown of Floyd's statements about Pacquiao

Floyd: Where was Pacquiao in 98, 99, 2000?

Fact: Manny Pacquiao became a WBC World Champion in the same year (1998) as Floyd, at Flyweight, only two months after Floyd.

Fact: Manny Pacquiao turned pro in 1995 a year earlier than Floyd, who turned pro in 1996.

Opinion: I suppose turning Pro in 1995 and fighting in Asia, as opposed to fighting in America, on a U.S. Network, means that Pacquiao didn't exist.

Floyd: You don't become great at 25, we knew Jordan was going to be a great basketball player, Floyd a great Fighter.

Opinion: That would have something to do with Amateur Pedigree's. Jordan's college years were the equivalent of being an Amateur Boxer, before turning Pro. The college years got him ready for the NBA, and recruiters & fans got a chance to see his talent prior to turning Professional.

Fact: Floyd was an Amateur with 90 Amateur fights and participated in the Olympics, therefore valuable experience and high expectations as soon as he turned Pro.

Fact: Manny Pacquiao didn't go through an Amateur Program, therefore a unknown commodity.

Fact: Pacquiao turned Pro in 1995, a year earlier than Floyd. At age 16, even though he is younger than Floyd. Therefore a unknown in the professional ranks without any high expectations. Therefore a work in progress, learning on the job. Therefore becoming a much better fighter at a later age, after gaining experience.

Opinion: You can become great'er at age 25, once you've been taught how to become a two-handed power puncher. Something Floyd was fortunate enough in learning in the Amateur ranks, where he also took 6 losses himself.

Floyd: He got knocked out twice

Fact: He got TKO'd in 1996, only a year after turning pro as a teenager, still compiling a 11-0 record before his first loss, without a strong Amateur Experience to get him ready for the Pro's. He got Tko'd in 1999, against a undefeated fighter while still a work in progress, again no Amateur pedigree
