Vitali Klitschko originally WON the belt that Lewis vacated & technically never lost in the ring... put it on loan for 4 yrs & then retrieved it. The faCT that he all but beat the living **** out of Lennox who last had this title seals it. All of Wlad's belts originated from paper belt holders who never even fought Lennox for those titles as he gave them away Vk HAD the Wbc belt long before wLAD retained the other 3 belts. The fact that he practicaLLY DESTROYED Lennox. should've been his anyways in stead of fighting Sanders for it.

In 135 years of boxing the lineal Championship has only been broken 3 times.
1. In 1928 Gene Tunney retired as champion at age 32.
Broke a 52 year lineage
2. In 1956, Marciano retired as champion at age 32.
Broke a 26 year lineage.
3. In 2004, Lennox Lewis retired as champion at age 38.
Broke a 45 year lineage.
So the question is: After Lennox, who was the next true World Champion, and when did his reign start?
