To be a great boxer you need a ****load of KO's?
I mean name you're favorite boxer and I guarantee that he had a bunch of knockouts.

Marvin Hagler- 62 Wins 52 KO's

Roberto Duran- 104 Wins 69 KO's
Alexis Arguello 82 Wins 65 KO's
Cotto- 36 Wins 28 KO's

what are you're thoughts?
Do you need KO's to be great? Or does it not matter? Just like if you have losses it doesn't make you great or not?

sweet p!ss had 17 or eighteen and i think hes cool...

lotta people like lamotta and he had 30 out of more than 100 fights...

kid gavilan had a pretty low ko percentage..

No. Some great fighters have low KO percentages, or just a low number of total KOs period.

In more modern times though, most (although not all) great fighters had reasonably high KO percentages.

It's how many KO's you have it's who you KO. Timing is important as well look at Sugar Ray Lenard's record. 36-3-1-25...but who except an idiot would say Sugar Ray wasn't a great fighter...one of the G.O.A.T. Look at Marciano another great fighter with 43 KOs. There are a lot of great...not good...but great fighters that don't have a lot of KOs.
