  • DBN exposes Kimas and Lomachenko

Seems like it's Lomanchenko who is the diva, not Walters. Klimas gets caught in a lie and trying to use the same lie against Walters as they used against Rigo. Klimas and Arum are running around telling everybody Walters is asking for a million dollars but Klimas won't tell us what Lomachneko is getting. Why are we only hearing the Arum-Lomachanko-Klimas side of the story? When you read these articles you never see the writer say they reached out to get Walters side of the story. These writers are basically releasing PR articles for certain fighters and promoters.

Klimas does look like a hypocrite with the whole weight thing. And funny he won't say how much loma would make lol

Rigo's team are right, they're using unreasonable offers to negotiate their way out of fights. How do you have fair and honest business dealings when the other side won't reveal how much they're getting for the fight? Probably, another part of their strategy: be unfair and secretive so the tough fights are never made.

I'm not very sympathetic towards Walters these days because of how he didn't make weight against Marriaga. He killed all the momentum he had from the Donaire fight.

But it's pretty fishy how Klimas didn't want to answer the question of how much Lomachenko was getting paid. Good job by DBN of asking the tough questions, we need more guys like that who are willing to dig a little. Boxing journalists today are too lazy or outright scared to objectively investigate managers and promoters.

Just because Klimas didn't divulge their cut to Dontae you assume that Walters' team don't know what it is? Besides - it really is simple - whatever the split, if Walters doesn't think it's enough for him he doesn't have to take it. I'd say $500k + a $300k sweetner is pretty good especially for the weightclass, but what exactly is the issue here? Is the problem really the purses or is it the 'ducking' allegations that so many posters here spend so much time worrying about?

Seems to me Dontae's just like most of the fanboys on this site, of any stripe, always ready to jump in and defend the honour of his favourite guys whilst overlooking or even justifying the same when the boot is on the other foot.

Ah well. Rant over. I'll let you boys get back to kicking your ball about.

He wasn't there to defend Walters. You here him say on the video he entered the conversation late but he heard Klimas say something that contradicted what he'd told him earlier. He called him out on a contradiction and have video proof Klimas wasn't being truthful. Was Donate supposed to not say anything and allow Klimas to continue to lie?

Are we talking about the weight thing here - whether Rigo would fight at 126?

Yeah. Just listened to the full video. There is no actual lie if you listen carefully - Dontae simply assumes that by 'no weight issue' Loma means that Rigo agreed to 126. The points Dontae raises about whether Arum is offering Rigo / Walters enough is valid and interesting but as Dontae points out himself that ain't Loma or Klimas' fault.

And also Dontae skirts round a few points and makes a few assumption to justify his arguments which aren't supported by the evidence he offers. Course, Dontaes doing what he does, and naturally he has, as is his right, his own slant on events - just saying that Dontae ain't any more a source of truth in the sport than the other hacks out there.

So you didn't watch the video. You read the title and defended Lomamchenko like the fanboy you accused Domtae of being

Is there a DBN affiliate plan I need to sign up for to make some extra money? Seeing a lot of cats posting his videos lately.

The 300k offer is PR **** anyway. I mean should there be a winners bonus in boxing? F#ck ya. Is there now? Nope so throwing out a $300k bet basically vs just giving Walters $300k more aren't the same thing. Give Walters $300k & then maybe he'll bet on winning to to get another $300k.

Video is all based on assumption and no facts. Klimas is under no obligation to tell anyone how much his fighter is making. But if you think that he's making 1M then you're beyond delusional. Espinosa offered up 1.1M for the fight. That alone should tell you what the market value for a fight of this level is. And yes, Lomachenko is getting paid more, as dan rafael pointed out on Twitter, but it's not that much more. The Rigo situation isn't all that similar . Rigo wanted more money but he wasn't willing to move up, he wanted a catch weight and rehydration clause on top of that. Funny how a couple weeks ago Rigo said he would move up to 126 to fight leo but when it came to lomachenko it was 124 and rehydration. Why is that? That's a question I want dontaes to answer but he won't even cover it.
