This will be easier to gouge an indication when they've actually fought at post-prime(s), no?

What color does Joe Calzaghe have to be to beat Hopkins or get a draw with?

At what weight though? not convinced Hopkins can beat world class fighters that are the same size as him even in his prime.

All his big wins were midgets

              Hopkins.

I think he was a beast in his prime. Perfect technique, tough as they come, smart as few and incredible adaptable.
Whatever you care to mention, Bernard could do it.
Infighting, outside, defence, offence- in short, Mr. Executioner was complete.

However, I do think it would be very very close, where we would only get to see Bernard starting to edge ahead in the last few rounds.

I don't like Calzaghe's style, but he's still a difficult man to beat.

I think, even though Bernard may be more technically sound in his prime than Joe that Joe's jab would be too much for him. When Joe gets his jab going it is very hard to sustain any sort of pressure on him because it is so fast. I think Joe's jab would be the key in this fight.

That is a possible scenario, though I don't think it's very likely.
A jab isn't really that hard to nullify if you know how to do it, especially on people who's not taller than you.

Hopkins stands wide with his feet, leaning on his backfoot to create what we call fake distance between himself and the prey.
When you do this, you move your head far enough back to get it out of range of a punch.
All you have to do to be in range yourself is to put your weight back over the front foot, and you will have gained a foot in fake distance.

Hopkins does this all the time, catching people off guard.
He's also good to lead with a straight right, which is a good counterpunch to a southpaw jab.

You cannot convince me that Joe is a better jabber than Winky. His jab was a non-factor in their fight, a tactical victory important for B-Hop.

Correct Hopkins doesnt beat skilled fighters unless he has every physical advantage.

Joe would beat any Hopkins and thins Hopkins is as good as peak Nard, Wright and Tarver surparse any win prior.
