  • TOUGHER TEST FOR Mayweather: Hatton or Judah

Some say Floyd is avoiding tough challenges by moving up to 140 over Hatton and Cotto...instead to fight Mitchell and Judah...

I think Judah is tougher for Floyd style wise because he is a southpaw, who can punch, is very very fast even at welterweight, and we haven't really seen Floyd in there with other slick boxers...

Sharmba vs Cotto...I am not sure who I'd say is tougher...I think Floyd would have an easier time with Cotto...he would land at will, break Cotto down, hit him with so many clean shots that I feel Cotto won't make it to the final bell...

Sharmba however is still fast, southpaw, a boxer-mover...and again like Judah...we have not seen Floyd in with other slick boxers...

I think either way Floyd goes (Cotto/Hatton) or (Mitchell/Judah)...it will be tough...just two different sets of styles...

This COULD be a way for Floyd to pack on a few, and settle into the weight before facing naturally bigger guys like Hatton and Cotto...if you ask me, I don't really find Floyd to be THAT small...I think he is physically a pretty strong guy himself...doesn't fight like a strong and physical guy...but he has handled his physique, speed, and conditioning well from 130-140...

I think Hattons style will give him more problems then the rest. He does nothing but pressure fighters and just keeps throwing punches and he's got a granite chin so he doesn't care if he gets hit. Sure the other guys are slick but PBF is slicker and faster than them so they won't give him much problems IMO.

this is a decent question. to me, they are both equealy dangerous. i would love to see how hatton would fair against either of them. and if hatton steps up in weight, i wouldn't rule out kostya tszyu beating him if hatton(most likely hatton's team) wants to fight again.

and no hating from you hatton fans. it's just my opinion.

          Judah by a mile.

I think Judah's the only fighter 147 and down who has a serious shot at beating Floyd, and it's because of the speed and power.

          Mayweather would carve Hatton up.

Judah's southpaw stance and hand speed is the tougher test.

Especially because Judah is looking to be a murderous puncher at 147.

He's starting to carry Welter very well, weighing in the mid 150s come fight time.

the only reason I would favor the Mitchell/Judah route (which Floyd is taking) is because we have already seen Floyd in vs guys who come forward, are sluggers, and like to rough things up...

I REALLY want to see how Floyd would do vs a fighter who can move, who can use defense well, who has speed to match his, who is slick and would force Floyd to come forward a bit...we just have not seen it...say Floyd beats Cotto and Hatton...well they are good, but hey, he beat two more guys who were one dimensional who just come forward and eat punches...

I really want to know how he handles other slick boxers

There both equally, but I'd say Judah slightly more because of him being a speedy southpaw, and we all know how southpaws can cause trouble for orthodox fighters.

It would be interesting to see how Floyd would deal with Judah, because he would be the slickets fighter Floyd has faced to date.

Hatton is nothing but a volume puncher and I can't believe how people actually think he'd stand more than a punchers chance. All he does is work the body mostly and that crap isn't going to phase Mayweather with Mayweather's superior defense. Floyd beats Hatton on speed, both hand and footspeed. He beats him on defense. Easily beats him on accuracy. It'd be like Philip N'Dou except Hatton might actually last the distance b/c he's tough.

Judah has a damn good chance at beating Floyd, although that fight could go either way. Judah has the speed to neutralize Floyd, the power for sure, and decent defense and head movement. I see that fight probably going decision to either fighter. That is by far the biggest fight that can be made in boxing right now as far as I'm concerned. I hope they hold off for a little while and clear some others out of the way first.

You guys really havent seen Hatton fight. He is really quick, and he forces you to fight his fight. He's not an unskilled brawler like people are making him out to be, he's actually a very skilled inside fighter much like Castillo, except he's stronger AND quicker.
