Why doesn't Mayweather have to beat Margarito, Cintron, and Williams? Cotto already beat Malinaggi (a ww belt holder) He beat Mosley. He beat Judah. Maybe he should beat one of those guys before he faces Mayweather. Maybe the other fight for the next shot at Mayweather.

I think it's tough to say Cotto has to clear out a division to face Mayweather when Mayweather has NEVER really cleared out a division.

I think it's tough to say Cotto has to clear out a division to face Mayweather when Mayweather has NEVER really cleared out a division.

Because Floyd been through many divisions in his career - 6 titles in 5 divisions. He doesnt have time to clear it out. Cotto has been in how many? Theres nothing wrong with that, but if your gonna hover around the same division your whole career you might as well clear it out
