Last time I saw Midnight Run was probably when I was in 3rd or 4th grade, but we have it lying around somewhere and I have always wanted to watch it again so I may now.
But yeah I know what you mean with Apatow and friends. Now I think all of those guys work really well together, like I thought Superbad was absolutely hysterical mainly because it was a simple movie about high school kids cursing and trying to get laid with the characters being believable and with good chemistry; it didnt try and be way to big and rely on pop culture jokes (which I absolutely loathe).
Then there are the other comedies by those guys I hate like Pineapple Express. It was funny at times but there were so many parts where it would just be guys just yelling and screaming while they are fighting or in a car chase. As for Green Hornet I completely dismissed that when it came out it just looked like a money grab. Rogen has always seemed like a dick, even in his stand up comedy on youtube when he was like 16.
Rogen played the guy in Green Hornet as a d*ck. I mean, I honestly have no idea what the hell they were aiming for. Cos I absolutely detested the character and hated every single thing he did/said. And it's cos they made him deliberately obnoxious.
Re Superbad - oddly enough, I actually liked it the first time I saw it. Mclovin and Michael Cera were great in it, to the point where it carried me over into actually liking it. Then I re-visited a couple of months ago, and once you get used to McLovin, the whole thing just seemed awful. Not as bad at the weakest efforts from Apatow but still nowhere as fun as I remembered.
That reminds me, 40 Year Old Virgin was.....OK. I watched it about half way through, not bored or offended (which is an achievement for an Apatow film) but haven't revisited to watch it till the end, which is quite telling too.
That reminds me, I keep meaning to put you on ignore.
At least now you'll know the reason I'm gonna be listed as having viewed your profile. You know, to get to the ignore button, rather than have any sort of curiosity about you.
Ta-ta.

Bridesmaids was the funniest **** I've seen in awhile.
I though Get him to the Greek was alright.
Old School is funny.
Bridesmaids actually does look promising, a lot of peoples whose opinion I trust like it. I'm hoping the Apatow connection is more to do with selling the film by having his name associated with it, rather than having his creative input throughout it.
