Nah. Tune ups are supposed to be green, small, old and past prime. Not young, undefeated, huge, long-reach. Cotto was the tune up. Young huge Trout's mode of fighting in that fight was like warding off evil spirits trying to survive. All of Cotto's past opponents traded with him. Not like a terrified Trout.
