Why such a big lay off for Demetrius? I really thought he was working towards something, should be taking a 15 month break imo.

This is a very bad mismatch, and should not be allowed. Freddie Norwood has hardly had any fights, and none of significance against decent oponents for the past 6-7 years.

He must be over 40 by now. AND, i suppose you all noticed that they didn`t say what weight as a champion he was........................

He was a featherweight, and lost his title to Derrick Smoke`` Gaynor years ago.

And Gaynor was no hotshot. On paper Norwood was a far better fighter, and, one time, he had been.

He was DQ against Gaynor and losing before that.

From what I last read, he had a falling out with his uncle B-Hop and he pretty much hasn't been heard from since. He's already 30 yrs old and hasn't made an impact in boxing. Whatever they clashed about has hurt D-Hop faaarrr more than B-Hop. What a shame, D-Hop like his uncle has a lot of potential and talent.

Ha funny yesterday I was just thinking about what the hell happened to that guy I don't think the Bhop fall out has anything to do with it though. That **** happened before the holt fight and he looked horrible IMO in said fight. I thought he probably just retired.

Just Had a quick look at Boxrec, and see that I actually underestimated the disgusting situation with this outrageous mismatch.

Freddie has had 7 "fights" against no-hopers in the past 10 years, when he then had fought Gainer.

I said that the result was a DQ, when in fact boxrec says TKO.

What actually happened was that Gainer was winning and Freddie and he began to blatantly foul each other by hitting low. Whilst Freddie was being held by the ref, Gainer hit him really low, which the ref. who was right on the spot, pretended he didn't see. Freddie went down, the ref began to count and the ref counted him out, although Freddie could have continued. he was trying to get Gainer DQ, and wanted to continue but the ref wouldn't let him. So, as I recall is "officially" should have been a KO not TKO.

The decision was outrageous, and should have been ajudged an NC, or Gainer should have been DQ.
