Fitzgerald came out aggressively but Lee was quickly showing why he is world class with the stylish upper cuts and counter right hands in evidence. It was clear that Fitzgerald had come to win and although Lee's cuter, quality punches were the more eye-catching the underdog was clearly in the fight at halfway. Lee was unable to keep Fitzgerald off him as he marauded forward, and there was little spite in the Irishman's digs to the body as he began to look weary. Lee was able to dictate the pace and although it was not the return he had been looking for, the referee's tally of 98-94 was a fair reflection of his superiority.

Would pick Barker to win this, but it's one that should happen. Wouldn't surprise me if instead they both ended up having stay-busy fights until Quillin, Geale or GGG come calling.

Very dissapointed with Andys display tonight was hoping for him too put on a show instead he got an extremely tough fight from a game but very limited opponent.Andy is still so hittable.Styles do make fights but Andys leaky defence would after last favour Barker who is far more accurate then Fitzer

Lee beats him, Barker isn't a pressure fighter & thats the style Lee always looks less impressive against.

          Lee will outbox Barker.

Make it happen........ Would be a massive fight for both fighters. Even after last night performance, i would still go will Lee.

Good solid win for andy, never easy coming back from the kind of loss that he suffered against Chavez jr,not he's best fight but a win all the same.darren barker would be a good fight also some one like jermaine Taylor or even Anthony mundine would probably match up quite well against him and would bring decent $$$ and maybe ppv.all the best anyway andy.

Lee just lacks the physical strength and heavy-handedness to hold guys like that off. He's got that really upright style where guys tend to look uncomfortable once an opponent is getting inside the jab. I don't think he was even in any sort of significant trouble on Saturday night, it just looked bad for an opponent on that level to backing him into corners and teeing off.

As you say, he is pretty easy to hit as well because he just doesn't move his head. But he does have a decent set of whiskers. He just tends to get worn down by the constant pressure these aggressive fighters put him under.

Makes sense for both fighters and its a competative fight for the fans although my pick would be comfortably Barker.

Lee wasnt impressive vs Fitzgerald, his stamina didnt look great his punching had no authority and if you compare that to how Barker looked vs Hope youd have to say that Darren is the man in form and is too good to be outboxed at range by Lee.

Is Andy Lee no longer promoted by Dibella or his Hearn now his co-promoter?
